The Kids In The Hall return

Woah Nelly! The Canadian comedy troupe, Kids In The Hall, are back.

Tonight, Canadians the world over will rejoice. A cultural icon has been revived – and this time is returning back to television. And moreover, the entire original cast and director are involved.

The Kids In The Hall are back!

Yes. Everybody is playing their part. Dave Foley, Bruce McCullouch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson with executive producer Lorne Michaels. Although, there has been no word yet on the Chicken lady.

Amazon picked up the defunct series for its Prime service. As well as eight all new episodes, Prime will also be offering the complete Kids In The Hall catalog. Is this real life? Oh yes it is!

The Kids In The Hall was originally a highlight of the CBC. Perhaps one of the most groundbreaking sketch comedy shows of all time, and certainly the best to come from Canada. Yes. That includes SCTV. The original series crushed heads for five seasons and 102 episodes, spanning from 1988 to 1995.

“We’ve been investing in Canada for several years and are excited to add to that momentum by making The Kids in the Hall the first Canadian Amazon original series,” said James Farrell, VP of international originals for Amazon Studios. “The Kids in the Hall is an iconic show with a deep-rooted fan base. Several of our global hits, including The Boys, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, and The Expanse have been filmed in Canada, and we are looking forward to continuing our work with talented producers and crew teams across the country to bring this series to our Prime members around the world.”

A release date for the new series has yet to be announced, and fans of the cult classic will face restless nights until it is. Which characters will return? Will the Kids still be politically incorrect? And will Shadowy Men of a Shadowy Planet still create the shows music? So many questions.
