In a ravaged wasteland, the stench of death fills the air. Mutants infest the streets of crumbling cities.

This is the end, but off in the distance, an all too familiar sound comes from what looks like a bandit hideout. An old beat up phonograph plays old school vinyl from our time. That sound is the sound of Toxic holocaust’s “From Ashes To Nuclear Destruction”, a compilation of Toxic Holocaust’s singles and rarities from studio albums and various split EP’s. Some of which are vinyl only splits.

This is a compilation that will truly show you how far a band has gone to get their sound. There are Toxic Holocaust songs from older EP’s such as “Metal Attack”, from the “Death Master” EP,  to newer songs like “Bitch” from “Conjure and Command”.

You can really notice the change and difference from one song to another, don’t get me wrong, Toxic Holocaust is a band that likes to stick to its roots and you can tell that by listening to the compilation.

It even features vinyl gems such as “A.T.O.M.I.C” from the groups two-track split with Midnight, which made profits that were donated to help the Japanese tsunami victims. “From Ashes To Nuclear Destruction” is truly a masterpiece that will tell the story of Toxic Holocaust through sound, and is a great ice breaker for anyone who isn’t familiar with the band.

Toxic Holocaust’s Joel Grind delivers simplistic but catchy riffs on the guitar, while his vocals will leave a black metal taste in your mouth, with the rest of the ensemble handing out tight drums and bass licks straight out off of an old punk album, this band will take you back to the old school thrash era.

This is a great compilation to be playing at a party. It will surely leave you and your friends wanting to kick toxic waste barrels into crowds of innocent bystanders.

Hopefully this compilation will prove to be a great palette cleanser for Toxic Holocaust’s upcoming 2013 album “Chemistry of Consciousness”, and hopefully the new album will live up to Toxic Holocaust’s legacy, which so far has set the bar very high.
