Junjie Lian tops the mens 10 meter board at World Cup Of Diving
The first day of competition at the World Cup Of Diving was dominated by the Chinese, as Junjie Lian topped the leader board on the mens 10 meter board.
Earlier in the day, China’s Yiwen Chen dominated the 3 meter board in the womens category, as the top three divers in both catagories today, came from China. Jia Chen finished second, while Shan Lin was third – however, only two competitors per nation can advance to the finals, leaving Lin on the outside looking in.

It was a similar story in the afternoon session, where Yuming Bai and Renjie Zhao of China finished second and third, but Zhao will not able to compete in the finals on Saturday.
Qualifying in third and fourth positions, were two Canadians – Benjamin Tessier and Matt Cullen, who will be the main competition for China’s Lian and Bai in the finals.
Rounding out the top twelve heading to Saturday’s 10-meter finals are Cassiel Rousseau (Aus), Jonal Mercieca (Aus), Mark Hrytsenko (Uka), Randal Willas Valdex (Mex), Oleksii Sereda (Ukr), Ruslan Ternovoi (Nab), Kevin Berlin Reyes (Mex) and Euan McCabe (Gbr).
All of which will return to the 10-meter board at Montreal’s Olympic stadium this Saturday, February 28th at 7:00pm
These are the first competitions held at the historic Olympic Stadium, which hosted the Summer Olympics fifty years ago, since an arsonist protesting the high cost to repair the stadiums roof set fire to the facilities just outside the pool area. Extensive repairs were needed, including cleaning nine kilometers of ventilation ducts which also prevented Montreal from hosting the 2025 World Aquatics World Cup.
While construction on the roof is on going, competition is able to return to the pools.
