Montreal Oi! Fest returns for its 8th edition

Montreal – December 18, 2022

The Montreal Oi! festival is back for its 8th edition.

The eighth edition of the Montreal Oi festival will draw artists from near by and far away, including four bands from France, one each from Ireland, Germany and the United States with another four Montreal (or nearby) acts rounding out the impressive roster. An international flavoring of Oi, Punk and Reggae musicians.

With the closure of the Co-op Katakombes, an underground Punk bar and venue that sadly closed its doors due to the degradation of the building and as a result of gentrification in the city, the festival now moves to the famed Foufounes Electriques venue. An iconic landmark in Canadian music.

Taking place over the Saint-Patrick’s day weekend, as has been the festival’s tradition since its humble beginnings, the 8th edition of the Montreal Oi fest brings a barrage of Francophone Oi artists to town, and well as a select crop of Irish lads as well. With the famous annual Saint-Patrick’s parade possibly happening the same day, there is a strong chance at a great piss up on the horizon.

On Friday, the festival will present Komintern Sect (France), The Outcasts (Ireland), Violent Way (United States), Ultra Razzia (Montreal) and Over The Hill (Montreal).

For day two on Saturday, 86 Crew (France), RIXE (France), The Prowlers (Montreal), Bromure (France), Brechraitz (Germany), Alex Paquette (Montreal) will take to the stage.

Oi fans thinking of visiting Montreal for the festival are encouraged to secure tickets early, as the legendary Foufounes Electriques club holds just over six hundred people at capacity.
