Ahmed Hill re-signs with the Montreal Alliance

With just under a month to go before the start of the CEBL season, the Montreal Alliance are in the process of finalizing their opening day roster. Having signed Maxime Boursiquot from the Ottawa Blackjacks, and re-signed of Montreal native Elijah Ifejeh.

The Montreal Alliance also add three newly drafted players, namely Ismaël Diouf of Laval University who they selected with the first overall pick in the 2024 CEBL draft. Montréal natives Bahaïde Haïdara (UQAM) and Renoldo Robinson (University of Victoria) were also selected by the Alliance 20th and 21st overall.

The Alliance roster now includes Ahmed Hill, who has agreed on a new contract and will return on a one-year deal.

“I am proud to wear the colors of the Alliance and represent this city. There’s nothing more rewarding than feeling the support of an entire community, and I am honored to be a part of it,” said Hill.

Ahmed Hill emerged as the Alliance leading scorer in 2023, averaging 20.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 32.8 minutes per game. This productivity positioned him as the franchise’s all-time leader in points per game and secured his placement on the 2023 All-CEBL Second Team, in addition to being named the Alliance’s Offensive Player of the Year.

“Ahmed’s presence both on and off the court has been invaluable to our team,” said Joel Anthony, General Manager of the Alliance. “His leadership, skills, and dedication make him a cornerstone of our team as we strive for championship success. Ahmed’s experience in the league is unmatched, and we are confident that he will play a pivotal role in guiding our team to new heights this season.”

A native or Augusta, Georgia, Hill made CEBL history by becoming the first player to surpass the 1,000-career-point threshold on July 28, 2023. His notable achievements have positioned him as the second-highest scorer in the CEBL’s All-Time records.

Montreal’s CEBL campaign gets under way on May 23rd when the Alliance visit the Vancouver Bandits. The Alliance will play their first home game of the season on May 30th at the Verdun auditorium when they host the Edmonton Stingers. Tickets are available here.
