Elvis Stojko and Stars On Ice stun at Place Bell

April 30, 2026
A plethora of figure skating elite, including Elvis Stojko, descend upon Place Bell

Since 1986, Stars On Ice has been traveling the world, bringing the beauty and poise of elite, top flight figure skating to arenas all over. Giving ice skating fans a chance to witness some of the best in the business perform right in front of their very eyes – and tonight, was Laval’s turn.

With not one, not two, but three local pro hockey teams in the playoffs – it was great to see such a large crowd show out to watch the Stars On Ice weave their magic.

Under near darkness, with just a spotlight and a few ambient lights on the edges of the ice rink, some of the greatest Canadian figure skaters past and present brought a dazzling array of talent and skill to a packed house, at Laval’s Place Bell arena.

A number of the skaters featured tonight, competed here in late 2025 as part of the 2025 Canadian National Skating Championships, but tonight wasn’t about competition. There weren’t any scores, not any judges. Tonight was about talented athletes enjoying their passion and their art, working some fantastic routines to an appreciative crowd that cheered them on throughout the entire soiree.

Olympic Bronze Medallists and five-time Canadian Dance Champions Piper Gilles & Paul Poirier, World Champions and three-time Canadian Pair Champions Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps; two-time Olympian and four-time Canadian Champion Madeline Schizas and 2026 Canadian National Pair Champions Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud were among the highlights of the evening.

Olympic Gold, Silver and Bronze Medallist, World Champion and three-time Canadian Champion Kaetlyn Osmond, one of Canada’s most decorated figure skaters. Olympian and two-time Canadian Champion Keegan Messing; and Olympian and two-time Canadian Champion Roman Sadovsky. And for Laval only, Two-time Olympians Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha.

And, of course, two-time Olympic Silver Medallist and three-time World Champion Elvis Stojko – who received roaring crowd support every time he took to the ice, and an standing ovation upon completion of his final number.

Any time that an athlete such as Elvis Stojko comes to town, is a chance to witness something special. When it comes to winter sports, Stojko is a legendary name that dominated figure skating and made Canada proud – and has no t been forgotten. He skated two routines; three if you count the introduction number that featured everyone involved in the show, and looked every bit as good as he did when representing Canada at the Olympics.

Here tonight, he and everyone at Stars On Ice, did what they always do. They brought attention to the world of figure skating, both the older initiated fans and to the new comers in the crowd. The youth. And if the audience’s response is enough to base a performance on – then tonight’s Stars On Ice was a rollicking success.
