The Toronto Raptors will play the Washington Wizards in Montreal this October
NBA action will be returning to la belle province of Quebec this fall, when the Toronto Raptors will play the Washington Wizards in a pre-season game at the Bell Center.
This will mark the tenth time an NBA pre-season game has been played in Canada, and will be the eight time that such an event, dubbed the NBA Canada Series, is held in Montreal – which also means that Montreal will have held the most NBA games outside of Toronto in the country.

“We have always felt the love from our fans in Montreal and across Quebec, so we are thrilled to be visiting again this fall,” Raptors general manager Bobby Webster said in a press release. “The NBA Canada Series is an amazing initiative that allows us to physically connect with communities across the country. We look forward to celebrating nearly 30 years as Canada’s NBA team.”
The Raptors will head into the season with three Canadians on the roster including RJ Barrett, Kelly Olynyk and Montreal-native Chris Boucher.
“The energy, enthusiasm and passion that fans in Montréal have for the NBA is on full display every time we play games there,” said NBA Canada Senior Vice President and Managing Director Leah MacNab. “We thank the Raptors and Wizards for participating and look forward to celebrating the 10th NBA Canada Series and the Raptors’ 30th anniversary at the Bell Centre in October.”
The Raptors played last year’s Canada Series game against the Sacramento Kings in Vancouver following training camp in Burnaby, British Columbia.

The Raptors and Wizards will play at the Bell Center in Montreal on October 6th – but there is also a lot more basketball action taking place in Montreal prior to that. The Montreal Alliance of the CEBL have two remaining home games to play at the Verdun Auditorium and then they will be in action during the Championship Weekend, also in Verdun, which will also see the Western Conference final as well as the CEBL Championship game in the same weekend.
Tickets for the Raptors versus Wizards game in Montreal will go on sale on August 16th.
