Canada will play two friendlies in Toronto and Montreal this October
Fresh off their best ever FIFA World Cup campaign, which not only included Canada earning their first ever point, but also their first ever World Cup victory and the squad even advanced to the knockout stage where they were ultimately defeated by Morocco. Today, it has been announced that Canada will be hosting two friendlies on home soil this October.
And if that isn’t already great news, Canada Soccer is finalizing additional friendlies in the expanded September-October FIFA window.

Canada’s fall schedule includes the Concacaf Nations League A Quarterfinals in November. Canada finished third in the 2024-25 Concacaf Nations League A and is one of four nations to receive a bye directly into the quarterfinals, bypassing the September-October Group Stage.
The quarterfinals will be played as a two-legged, home-and-away cumulative goals series, with the winner advancing to the Concacaf Nations League Finals at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in March 2027. The 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League also serves as the qualification pathway to the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup. The four quarter-final winners will qualify directly for the Gold Cup. The four losing teams will advance to the Gold Cup preliminary round.
The first match will take place at BMO Field in Toronto, one of the host stadiums for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, when Chile arrives to take on Canada on September 26th. Then, Stade Saputo in Montreal will welcome Peru on October 3rd.
Billed as ‘The Homecoming’ – these matches are set to serve as a celebration of a team that inspired a nation and united millions of Canadians through unforgettable performances. After the incredible support shown by Canadian supporters throughout the summer, these matches are an opportunity for everyone who followed the journey to welcome the team back home.
“The momentum we’ve created for this sport in the country over the past few months has been incredible,” said Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team Head Coach Jesse Marsch. “We couldn’t have done it without our fans, and these matches are a chance to say thank you and continue to build on what we achieved at the World Cup. We hope to see Canadians celebrate this team with a hero’s welcome and show up in numbers this fall.”

This is sort of a homecoming of sorts, where the fans will get the chance to show appreciation for what Canada was able to do on the world stage, at the biggest sporting tournament on the planet. Soccer in Canada has grown so much, and now we are worldwide and personified!
