CF Montreal made two moves today, acquiring midfielder Wikelman “Wiki” Carmona in a trade with New York Red Bulls, then signed forward Noah Streit from Swiss Super League club FC Basel 1893.
In return, CF Montreal sends defender Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty to the New York Red Bulls. As part of the transaction, CF Montréal will also retain a part of Marshall-Rutty’s salary for the 2026 season. Both teams will also retain a percentage of any future transfer.

CF Montreal bought Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty from Toronto FC for $1.3M USD two seasons ago, in a bid to bring more youth into an aging squad. The at the time just-turned 20 year old winger was considered to be among the best North American prospects when he joined Toronto at just 15 years old. Montreal immediately extended Marshall-Rutty’s contract through to the 2027 season.
CF Montreal sent Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty to Charlotte FC on a season-long loan less than a year after acquiring him, in a move that cleared the way for CF Montreal to bring in promising midfielder Olger Escobar from the New England Revolution.
“We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Wikelman Carmona,” said CF Montréal Managing Director, Recruitment and Sporting Methodology Luca Saputo. “His profile will strengthen our midfield options and give our coach greater tactical flexibility. I would also like to thank Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty and wish him all the best in the next stage of his career.”
The 22-year-old has spent the past five seasons in New York. Carmona totals 102 appearances (including 60 starts) five goals and seven assists. In 2024, he contributed to the Red Bulls’ run to the MLS Cup final.
Carmona is a product of Dynamo FC Margarita Academy, a youth academy based in Nueva Esparta, Venezuela, where he spent his youth career between 2016 and 2021. He officially joined the Red Bulls on Jan. 25, 2021.
On the international stage, Carmona made his debut for the Venezuelan national team on Oct. 10, 2025 in a friendly match against Argentina. He also represented his country at the U20 and U17 levels and notably featured on the Venezuelan squad at the 2019 South American U17 Championship.
Several hours later, CF Montreal announced the transfer of forward Noah Streit from Swiss Super League club FC Basel 1893.
Streit put pen to paper on a contract for the 2026, 2027, 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons with an option for the 2029-30 season. FC Basel will hold a percentage of a future transfer of the player over an undisclosed amount.
“We are very pleased to welcome Noah Streit into our ranks,” said CF Montréal Managing Director, Recruitment and Sporting Methodology Luca Saputo. “Noah is a powerful left winger who can create openings and make a big impact on offence. He fits perfectly with the profile we were looking for to energize our attack.”
A native of Biel, Switzerland, Streit has spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Challenger League side Neuchâtel Xamax FCS. He featured in 18 league matches, scoring two goals and adding two assists along with one goal in three Swiss Cup games.
The 20-year-old joined the FC Basel academy in 2016 from FC Biel-Bienne 1896. He officially joined Basel’s U16 squad for the 2020-21 season.
The winger officially joined the FC Basel II in 2022-23 where totaled nine goals and two assists in 53 matches over three seasons. He also notably helped Basel’s U19 squad win the championship in the 2023-24 season.
