CF Montreal defenseman Joel Waterman called up to Canadian national team
CF Montreal announced today, that defenseman Joel Waterman has been called up to the Canadian National team ahead of its next match-up.
Waterman will participate in the Concacaf Nations League semifinal on March 20th when Canada faces Mexico in the Concacaf Nations League semifinal at SoFi stadium in Los Angeles.

This will be the seventh career match for Joel Waterman as a member of the Canadian National team, following a full ninety minute performance in his last appearance for his country last year, when Waterman played an integral role in Canada’s victory over Suriname in the first leg of the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals.
In the other quarterfinal, the USA will take on Panama, also at SoFi stadium and prior to the tilt between Canada and Mexico.
The Semifinal winners will advance to the Final, where the fourth champion of the Concacaf Nations League will be crowned. The United States won the first three editions (2021 in Denver, CO, 2023 in Las Vegas, NV, and 2024 in Dallas, TX). The Semifinal losers will dispute the Third-Place Match.

Following the semifinal match-ups, the two victors will face each other in the cup final, while the two losers will square off for third place.
The Concacaf Nations League final will take place on Sunday, March 23 at 9:30pm EDT and will be preceded by the third-place match at 6:00pm EDT.
