Droog Fest takes place this weekend in Montreal

A new festival named Droog fest, brought to you by the fine people behind the Montreal Oi fest, is coming to Montreal later this week. Droog fest features three nights of punk and punk related tunes to get the cities counter-cultured dancing, in what will surely be a weekend to remember.

Each of the three nights will showcase a different style of music, which includes a full night of Francophone Ska and Punk rock on Sunday.

The first night will be a Ska filled affair that brings out some local and international acts to the Foufounes Electriques.

Headlined by France’s fantastic Skarface, with American’s Inspecter 7 and three local bands 2 Stone 2 Skank, Les Francbâtards and Les Happycuriens also hitting the stage. This promises to be a spankin’ good time.

The second night brings a long, long overdue first visit to Canadian soil for Swedish Oi masters Perkele who are set to headline the punk portion of the festival.

Also playing on Saturday, are two American groups; Blanks 77 and Violent Way – who you might remember following a blistering performance at Montreal Oi fest two years ago. Also playing are two great Canadian bands, La Gachette and Jenny Woo.

And finally, the third and final night of the festival, Sunday, will be a purely Francophone night with some big names gracing the stage.

All the way from France, come the mighty Charge 69 and No Suicide Act, which features FanXoa,  signer of Bérurier Noir and Molodoï. Also hitting the stage for the final night are Rudy Caya, Les Ordures Ioniques and a tribute to Flokons Givrés by Défaillance Voyou.
