From June 27 to July 6, over 350 concerts are scheduled to take place around the downtown core of Montreal at this years Montreal International Jazz Fest – and the vast majority and free of charge and open to everyone to attend.

The festival which can see upwards of 200,000 people on any given day, draws roughly 2 million people to Montreal’s downtown core every summer – with about 12.5% of those being tourists who make their way to the metropolis solely for the festival.

This year will see performances from the likes of Norah Jones, Andre 3000, Laufey, Orville Peck, Killer Mike, Haitus Kaiyote, Freddie Gibbs, Pink Martini, Cory Wong, Future Island, Charlotte Day Wilson, Kurt Vile And The Violators and so many, may more.

The Montreal International Jazz Festival is held in the heart of downtown Montréal, in the Quartier des Spectacles, located between Saint-Laurent Boulevard, Président-Kennedy Avenue, De Bleury Street and Sainte-Catherine Street and is best reached using Montreal’s metro system.

It is worth noting that much of Montreal’s downtown core will remain under construction during the festival, leaving many of the roads around and about the festival sites inaccessible to cars and motorized vehicles. The good news is that the Place Des Arts metro station will deliver right smack in the middle of all the fun.

While the main stage remains free for everyone, certain shows taking place in various concert halls across the city will require a ticket for admission.

Two thirds of the festivals concerts will be performed free of charge, however, including massive opening and closing ceremonies that as always will packed the streets of Montreal with jazz and music for all.
